Intro to CSM Academic Integrity
Welcome to the CSM Academic Integrity Tutorial.
As an institution, College of Saint Mary aims to cultivate a culture of integrity and honesty that students, faculty, and staff can abide by not only to adhere to the mission, but to also participate in the campus community in an ethical way.
What does it mean to act with integrity and honesty at CSM? Academic integrity means we pledge to be honest and forthright in our work at the college. In a sense, acting with integrity is a state of being. It is the way we carry ourself in the world.
It is the goal of the faculty to create an atmosphere in the classroom that honors our commitment to integrity and honesty and to provide a place to practice these values. But it all starts with the choices you make because they also affect the rest of the academic community.
From a student's perspective, academic integrity means to perform at the highest levels of ethical behavior in our studies and in our disciplines. For students, the choices you make shape who you are.
In a way, acting in a manner that embodies integrity and honesty prepares students to be ethical people in their lives outside of school and in their future endeavors.
We encourage faculty, staff, and students to embrace our culture of integrity to make CSM a place that honors our mission.
The following tutorial guides you through the different elements of plagiarism as well as some of the key points of our Academic Integrity policy. There will be 3 short quizzes after brief introductory material that will allow you to test your knowledge.
